Countdown Timer & Banner Bar – Privacy Policy

Countdown Timer & Banner Bar ("the App") provides countdown timers, announcement and sale banners with performance statistics ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store. Last updated: October 2026.

Personal information the App collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

• Products (write_products) – to show banners on selected products and collections.
• Web pixels and customer events (write_pixels, read_pixels, read_customer_events) – to register the App's pixel, which reports completed checkouts so the App can show how much revenue a banner generated.
• Store and session data – your myshopify domain and the API tokens Shopify issues to the App, and the name and email of the staff member who opens the App.

Additionally, once you have installed the App, it collects the following information about visitors of your store for banner statistics:

• A random session identifier created in the visitor's browser (no name, email or account), stored in local storage and in the first-party cookie sp-session-id for 30 days.
• Banner events: impression, click, close, coupon copy and purchase, with the page path, language, country, device type, referring domain, UTM source and campaign.
• For purchases: the order ID and order total, to attribute revenue to the banner that was seen.

The App does not store visitors' IP addresses, names, email addresses, postal addresses or payment details, and does not use third-party tracking cookies, web beacons or advertising pixels.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the information we collect from you and your customers only to provide the Service and to operate the App: showing banners, measuring their performance for you, and answering your support requests. We do not use it for advertising and do not sell it.

Sharing your personal information

We share personal information only with these service providers:

• Fly.io – hosting of the App and its database, region Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
• Shopify – the App runs inside Shopify and reads and writes data through the Shopify API.

Finally, we may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted, as well as the right to restriction, data portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Visitors of a store should contact the merchant first; we support the merchant in answering the request. We process the information to fulfil our contract with the merchant and, for banner statistics, on the basis of the merchant's legitimate interest in measuring their campaigns. The data is stored in the EU.

Data retention

We keep the data for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, your sessions are deleted immediately, and all banners, statistics and remaining store data are deleted when Shopify sends the shop redaction request (48 hours after uninstalling). Statistics linked to a specific order are deleted when Shopify sends a customer redaction request for that order. You can request deletion at any time via the contact below.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
